Hafnium(IV) fluoride react with water

HfF4 + 3H2O → HfOF2•2H2O + 2HF

Hafnium(IV) fluoride react with water to produce dihydrate hafnium(IV) oxide-difluoride and hydrogen fluoride. This reaction takes place at a temperature of over 70°C.
