2HgCl2 + 4(NH3•H2O) → Hg2NCl•H2O + 3NH4Cl + 3H2O


Mercury(II) chloride react with ammonium hydroxide to produce hydrate mercury(II) chloride-dinitride, ammonium chloride and water. The reaction takes place in a boiling solution.
