I2Cl6 + 3H2O → 4HCl + H[ICl2] + HIO3


Iodine trichloride react with water to produce hydrogen chloride, dichloridoiodate(I) hydrogen and iodic acid. The reaction takes place in a diluted cold solution hydrogen chloride.
