Iodine(V) oxide react with fluorine

2I2O5 + 2F2 → 4IO2F + O2


Iodine(V) oxide react with fluorine to produce iodine(V) fluoride-dioxide and oxygen. This reaction takes place:
  • at a temperature near 0°C [8] (20°C [17]) in the liquid hydrogen fluoride.
  • at a temperature near 110°C. Impurities: IF5, IOF3.[8]
