KCl + 3H2O ± 6e- → 3H2 + KClO3


Electrolysis aqueous solution potassium chloride to produce hydrogen and potassium chlorate. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 40-60°C.
  • Cathodic process: 6H+ + 6e- → H2
  • Anodic process: Cl- + 3H2O - 6e- → ClO3- + 6H+
