Potassium chromate react with carbon

K2Cr2O7 + 2C → Cr2O3 + K2CO3 + CO


Potassium chromate react with carbon to produce chromium(III) oxide, potassium carbonate and carbon monoxide. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 800°C.
