KMnO4 + H2 → 2MnO2 + 2KOH + 2H2O


Potassium permanganate react with hydrogen to produce manganese(IV) oxide, potassium hydroxide and water. This reaction takes place slowly. In this reaction, the catalyst is can be silver(I) nitrate.
