La2O3 + 3H2S + 3C → La2S3 + 3CO + 3H2


Lanthanum(III) oxide react with hydrogen sulfide and carbon to produce lanthanum(III) sulfide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 1000°C.
