Mg + 2N2O4 → Mg(NO3)2 + 2NO


Magnesium react with dinitrogen tetroxide to produce nitrate magnesium and nitric oxide. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 150°C, in vacuo, in the ethyl acetate.
